Gary was born in October of 1957 in Pretoria, South Africa. As a young man serving in the military, he had a first-hand encounter with the power of the Holy Spirit and gave his heart to God. While pursuing a fine arts degree in South Africa, the Lord called him into the ministry. After completing college, Gary went to ministry school in Jerusalem, Israel between 1979 and 1981. It was then that he met his wife, Amanda. The two of them traveled extensively; speaking in churches in various parts of the world where they experienced a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In 1985, Gary founded a ministry in Zimbabwe, Africa that established multiple churches in the North Eastern part of the country. In 1989, the Lord led Gary to help troubled churches in Africa, Europe, and the USA. In 1996, Gary, Amanda, and their three daughters, came to the USA to help a church in Vancouver, Washington.
After helping a number of other churches in the Northwest, they arrived at New Life Church in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Since 2002, Gary and Amanda pastored a thriving community of believers for 15 years. Gary was appointed as part of a regional task force that explores strategies and solutions for churches in trouble. They are now leading a global ministry called New Life Movement, which is a part of Gary Fox Ministries. They are also involved in mentoring various pastors in the Northwest and other parts of the world. Through the years, Gary has relied on the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is using him to restore value for an authentic and balanced spiritual life. They help leaders and churches manage and navigate through transition, conflict, or any other church issue. They are providing and, together with leaders, creating initiatives that can facilitate health and growth in their church/organization.
Gary and Amanda partner, with pastors, leadership teams and congregations working to develop new, creative and Spirit-led ways to engage with, excite and activate the "sleeping giant" - the church. To mobilize every individual to accomplish the great commission. They do not offer a "high-powered" corporate kind of consultancy approach, but rather a Spirit-led, Prophetically guided approach, fully submitted to leadership and sensitive to church culture and ethos.
