Al Gerdes and his wife Sharon have retired in Northern Idaho after living and working in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington State. They were blessed to be raised in strong Christian homes where Christ became foremost in their lives. They met as youth at church, and have been very involved in Assembly of God churches for most of their nearly 50 years of marriage. They are blessed with 3 grown children and 7 wonderful grandchildren.
Al spent 30 years in law enforcement with the Seattle Police Department primarily in the detective division, retiring as the Detective Lieutenant in charge of the Homicide & Robbery units. He continued to use his investigative experience into retirement as a Special Investigator for The Hartford insurance company, and then Chief Deputy Coroner for Kitsap County. He has been active in a variety of church and Christian organizations serving as volunteer, leader, officer, and board member. Al’s strong faith and steady temperament allow him to serve effectively in the work of the Lord he loves.
